Experts classify amenorrhea into two kinds, namely:
- Primary amenorrhea (menstrual cycles never arise).
- Secondary amenorrhea (menstrual cycles take place normally, but suddenly stopped due to certain reasons over the past 12 months and even more).
Amenorrhea caused by:
- Stress is bothering you.
- Disruption of thyroid and pituitary gland function.
- Impaired ovarian function.
- Weight and excessive exercise.
- Your weight below average.
- Chronic disease.
- You are experiencing hormonal imbalance.
- Caused by certain drugs, such as contraceptive pills (if you stop taking this medication, menstrual cycle will happen again between three to six months later).
